CHRIS BAKER BSc (Hons) MBa FAusIMM
Chris holds a BSc (Hons) in Mineral Technology (1976) and an MBA (1994) from the University of Otago, New Zealand. He is a member of the Institute of Directors (NZ), and a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
Outside RSC, Chris is the CEO of Straterra Inc., a member-based organisation established to provide high level representation and advocacy for the resource sector in New Zealand. Chris’s other current roles include Chairman of the Coal Association of New Zealand, Chairman of mineral exploration company Auzex Exploration Ltd and Chairman, MinEx – New Zealand Mineral Industry Health and Safety Council.
His experience spans 35+ years in mining and energy in Australia and New Zealand, in executive and governance roles and across many commodities, in particular gold and coal.
RENÉ STERK MSc MAIG MAusIMM CP(Geo)
MANAGING DIRECTOR & PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT RESOURCES
René has delivered resource evaluation, training and geological consulting throughout Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania in a wide variety of geological settings and commodities. He has led numerous exploration and mine geology teams in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Philippines, Mongolia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique, Ghana, Sweden and Mali. He is the principal author of several Canadian NI 43-101 and JORC compliant resource studies for gold mines in Africa and has assisted clients with exploration programs for these projects and others.
René established the RSC New Zealand office in 2008, and specialises in exploration management for gold and base metals, with a strong skill set in resource modelling, grade control, reconciliation, QA/QC and successful sampling. He holds a Master’s Degree in Structural Geology and Tectonics and was at the helm of a successful New Zealand company before founding RSC.
MICHELLE STOKES BSc
Michelle has over 25 years work experience across mining, exploration, consulting, and the public sector. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Australia and was responsible for the development of successful mining projects in Western Australia that are still in operation today.
She was a key player in the team that developed the Northern Gold resource in the Northern Territory in Western Australia. After this, Michelle provided consulting service to the New Zealand Department of Crown Minerals, where she managed the National Mining Index system and assisted in the implementation of the digital permit system. She then co-founded Kenex, a New Zealand business development company focusing on data integration and digital knowledge transfer using spatial modelling techniques in GIS, and one of RSC’s close associates.
Michelle is a Perth-based non-executive director providing advice on corporate governance and business management.
CRAIG WRIGHT MSc MAusIMM
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Craig holds a master's degree in Geology from the University of Otago and joined RSC in 2012. In New Zealand he was involved in the exploration of the Oceanagold Frasers mine and in Australia he was a geologist for the surface to open pit development of the Newmont Mining Jundee gold mine. He also managed a copper and nickel exploration program in WA.
A drive for excellence, fostering teamwork and generating innovative ideas characterise Craig’s career. In addition to geological skills, he brings strengths to RSC in creative and analytical thinking, commercial strategy and financial analysis through his ventures as a business management consultant. Craig also co-founded a highly successful IT innovation & manufacturing company.
SEAN ALDRICH BSc(TECH) MSc(HONS) MAusIMM
NEW ZEALAND MANAGER & PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT - EXPLORATION
Sean Aldrich has held senior positions including General Manager at Mawarid Mining in Oman where several projects successfully discovered and mined copper VMS deposits, significantly increasing Mawarid’s LOM, and expanding the company into an international explorer. Sean has over 20 years mining and exploration experience in New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. His experience covers project generation and reviews, resource definition and underground and open pit mine geology. In New Zealand Sean was involved with the exploration and commissioning of OceanaGold’s Frasers Underground Mine and open pit mine production at the world-class Macraes deposit.
Sean’s recent work has included compilation of an off-shore phosphate NI43-101 technical report, ironsand exploration, and gold mine reconciliation studies. Sean holds an MSc (Hons) from the University of Waikato and has been a member of the Australasian Institute for Mining and Metallurgy for over 20 years.
DR. RON WORL PhD CPG-AIPG PG-WYOMING
PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT & MANAGER - GEOSCIENCES
Dr. Ronald G. Worl is a certified professional geologist with over 40 years of exploration and mining experience, holding a PhD from the University of Wyoming. Through his rich career, which included nine years of private consulting and many years with the US Geological Survey, Ron has built up extensive exploration experience in the United States, Middle East and Africa. Besides a solid record as a practical economic and industry geologist, he also has a long list of academic and professional publications.
Ron’s skill set includes but is not limited to: geologic studies and project evaluations of metallic and industrial mineral commodities, statistical analysis of geologic data, management and leadership and grass-roots mineral exploration including GIS-based mapping, sampling, and prefeasibility evaluations.
CAMPBELL MCKENZIE BSc (Hons)
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Campbell has a background as an exploration geologist and holds a BSc (Hons) in Geology. He has worked globally in the minerals industry for twenty years with experience covering mineral exploration and mining, business development, stakeholder relations, investment promotion and joint industry – academia research. He has held upper management roles with mineral sector consultancies, government and industry. This has included managing the minerals group for the New Zealand government for a period, as New Zealand Country Manager for marine minerals explorer Neptune Minerals Plc, and more recently CEO of Kenex – a New Zealand based consultancy providing GIS and exploration services to the industry.
Campbell is based at RSC’s Wellington office and manages the company’s Business Development.
