| ABSTRACT: | Xanadu Mines Ltd (ASX: XAM – “Xanadu” or “Company”) is pleased to provide an update on the ongoing exploration activities at its flagship Kharmagtai project (Figure 1), where drilling is targeting the discovery of additional near-surface porphyry copper-gold deposits under shallow cover. Xanadu’s MD & CEO, Dr Andrew Stewart, said “The results of this systematic drill programme are proving to be very exciting with three new high-priority targets returning broad zones of porphyry copper and gold mineralisation under shallow cover. We plan to test all 19 high-potential copper-gold and gold targets generated during a recently completed bedrock drilling programme. Less than half of the footprint of the system and only 6 targets have been tested. The identification of the high-density stockwork copper-gold mineralisation in at least three of the new targets is an outstanding result. However, what really excites our geology team is that the mineralisation is hosted within phyllic to intermediate argillic alteration which typically occurs above and laterally to porphyry mineralisation, indicating the entire 6-km-long strike of the system to the east of the Stockwork Hill and Copper Hill deposits where intersections of up to 646m at 0.51% Cu & 0.87g/t Au have been reported, has been down faulted and the entire mineralised porphyry system appears to be intact.” | |
