ABSTRACT:Gold developer West African Resources Limited (ASX, TSXV: WAF) is pleased to report further high-grade RC results from the M1 prospect, at its 100%-owned Tanlouka Gold Project, Burkina Faso. Managing Director Richard Hyde commented: “Extensional drilling at M1 South has intercepted further high grade mineralisation beneath the current resource area, returning 11m at 7.43 g/t Au from 279m and 7m at 6.92 g/t Au from 293m ended in mineralisation in TAN16-DD077A. This hole has been extended to 400m, assays are pending. “TAN16-DD086 has confirmed high grade tenor of the southernmost high grade shoot returning 9m at 93.55 g/t Au from 183m, including 2m at 282.61 g/t Au up dip of TAN16-DD055 which returned 16m at 69.11g/t Au from 209m. “Resource estimation studies are currently in progress and will incorporate these new results.” Diamond drilling is in progress at M1 South with the aim of extending mineralisation beneath the current resource. Drilling is being completed using two multipurpose contract rigs operating double shift, in parallel with WAF’s two diamond rigs operating on a single shift basis. Drilling is being completed on 25m by 50m grid along 350m strike. High grade in TAN16-DD086 is located up dip of 16m at 69.1g/t Au including 2m at 315.3g/t Au from 209m in TAN16-DD055 (ASX/TSXV: 15/10/16). This hole was critical in ensuring continuity of very high grade mineralisation in the southernmost high grade shoot at M1 South. Again, mineralisation at M1 South exhibits significant quantities of disseminated fine grained gold which will be amenable to gravity recovery methods. While metallurgical test work for M1 South mineralisation is still in progress, provisions have been made in the design criteria of the proposed plant for Tanlouka to include twin gravity concentrators to process this style of mineralisation.
