ABSTRACT: | The Amsel Project is an early stage gold exploration property in the Big Ten Caldera in central Nevada. It is within a 20 kilometer long, northwest trending structural corridor of historic artisanal workings and prospects described as the Big Ten Mineral Trend. The Amsel Project had minor historical exploration in the early 1980’s of geologic mapping, rock & soil geochemical sampling, and limited reverse circulation drilling. There are no known resources or mineral reserve estimates. The gold mineralizing system is a low-sulfidation type system that fits the Round Mountain analog as described by Henry (1997). Based on the historical work and current exploration data by VR, Amsel is worthy of additional exploration. At Amsel, the gold-silver quartz veins are encompassed by a large silica-sericiteadularia alteration cap which is anomalous in gold and silver. This extensive alteration cap is within a large potassic alteration zone. Gold bearing veins at Danbo indicate the Big Ten mineral corridor is increasingly enriched in gold towards Amsel, thus, providing an additional regional vector towards a significant gold deposit at Amsel. | |
