| ABSTRACT: | Troy Resources Limited (ASX: TRY) (Troy or the Company) is pleased to provide an update on its exploration drilling program that has been progressing at Karouni. Recent follow up drilling from previous wide spaced drilling at Goldstar has intersected significant mineralisation providing the Company with its first ore grade hits outside of the Smarts and Hicks Deposits. These intersections represent the first significant widths of gold mineralisation recorded in the Karouni exploration program including 13m @ 2.04g/t and 4m @ 3.34g/t. Drill spacing is from 140m to 280m and follow up infill drilling is planned to further test the potential of this target. Since January 2017, the drilling focus for the exploration team was split between close-spaced grade control RC drilling at the Smarts deposit and brownfields drill testing of the Goldstar, Dominica Shear, Norby and IP focussed targets (see Figure 2). At Goldstar a follow-up phase of wide-spaced infill drill traverses were completed. First pass wide spaced drilling at the Dominica Shear and Norby targets commenced. The key outcome being the identification of 'hot spots' within current brownfields targets that warrant infill as potential resource targets. The results achieved so far are very encouraging since they demonstrate a 'proof of concept' in terms of the detailed targeting work put together by the exploration team during 2016. | |
