ABSTRACT:The 1,060 hectare Saloon Project (the “Project”), NTS map sheets 105E/01 & 08, consists of 267 contiguous mineral claims in southern Yukon, approximately 68 km northeast of Whitehorse. The claims, situated within the Whitehorse Mining District at a latitude and longitude of 61°14΄N, 134°15΄W, are 100% owned by Strategic Metals Ltd. (“Strategic”) of Vancouver, British Columbia. Access is by helicopter from Whitehorse, with winter road access to within 16 km north of the Project via the Livingstone trail. The Project predominantly lies within the Yukon-Tanana terrane, which in the Project area primarily consists of interbedded metasiliciclastic sedimentary rocks and metavolcaniclastic schist of the Loon Lake Formation (currently assigned to the Finlayson assemblage), and minor metasiliciclastic sedimentary rocks of the Snowcap assemblage in the southeastern property area. The eastern edge of the Project is underlain by volcaniclastic rocks and minor limestone horizons of the Upper Triassic Semenof Formation, part of Quesnellia. The Loon Lake Formation is intruded by small diorite bodies, other mafic dykes and rare felsic dykes. Several strands of the northnorthwest trending Big Salmon fault dissect the property, with some northeast trending structures evident. Possible deposit types for the Project include both the polymetallic volcanogenic massive sulphide model, particularly the siliciclastic-felsic sub-type (e.g. Bathurst, New Brunswick), and the turbidite-hosted gold (saddle reef) model (e.g. Bendigo and Ballarat, Victoria, Australia). The Saloon Project covers the Loon drilled prospect (105E 003) and surrounds the Sylvia polymetallic vein showing (105E 020), as documented by the Yukon Geological Survey, at the southern end of the Livingstone Creek placer gold camp.
