ABSTRACT:The 4,845 hectare Meloy Project (the “Project”), NTS map sheets 115G/08 & 09, consists of 234 contiguous mineral claims in southwestern Yukon. The Project is located approximately 90 km north-northwest of Haines Junction, which is 154 km west of Whitehorse by road. The claims are situated within the Whitehorse Mining District at a latitude and longitude of 61°29’N, 13811’W, and are owned 100% by Strategic Metals Ltd. (Strategic) of Vancouver, British Columbia. Access is by helicopter from Haines Junction, with the closest road access approximately 35 km east-northeast of the Project at the community of Aishihik. The Project is currently shown by government mapping to be entirely underlain by various phases of the Paleogene Ruby Range batholith, except for the Alaskite Creek pluton of the Early Jurassic Long Lake suite along the northwest property boundary. The Ruby Range batholith on the property primarily consists of coarse grained alaskite to leucogranite, which appears to be intruded by an elongate 400m wide northwest trending, generally medium grained, granitic phase in the southwest property area, and by a small 1.5 by 2.5 km coarse grained alaskite porphyry stock in the southeast. Minor fresh quartz diorite, which is only exposed at low elevation in the south-central Project area, may represent the oldest phase. The above units are cut by felsic feldspar ±quartz porphyry, granite, rhyolite, diabase and gabbro dykes. The Ruby Range batholith is a composite body and may be subdivided into multiple episodes of magmatism with more age constraints, with some episodes possibly as old as Casino suite. For example, at the Canopus porphyry occurrence, 50 km to the north of the Project, similar intrusive phases have been dated as both Paleogene (Ruby Range) and early Late Cretaceous (Casino suite). The exploration model deposit type for the Project is bulk-mineable plutonic hosted, calc-alkaline porphyry copper molybdenum gold silver. The Project covers the Raft (Alaskite Creek) and Rockslide drilled prospects, and the North Star anomaly, porphyry copper type mineral occurrences as documented by the Yukon Geological Survey. The upper level of the Ruby Range batholith, which includes the Project area, is highly prospective for porphyry type mineralization and the Casino suite, which may occur on the property, hosts porphyry mineralization throughout the 350 km long Dawson Range copper - gold belt.
