| ABSTRACT: | Silver Mines Limited (ASX:SVL) (“Silver Mines” or “the Company”) is pleased to provide an update on drilling at the Bowdens Silver project located near Mudgee in New South Wales with further high-grade results. Diamond core holes BD17009, BD17010, BD17014 and BD17017 were drilled to test various parts of the Bundarra zone on the western side of the Bowdens Silver deposit. BD17009 was subsequently extended based on results from a previously reported hole, BD17011 (ASX release dated 15th March 2017). With the exception of BD17010, all holes intersected extensive silver, zinc and lead mineralisation. Hole BD17017 recorded a wide intersection of 315 metres averaging 63g/t silver equivalent which includes multiple high grade zones. This together with the results of BD17009, BD17014 and previously reported holes BD17004 and BD17011, provides further evidence to the increasing vertical extent of this system with mineralisation extensions up to 300 metres beneath the existing resource. Furthermore, the Bundarra zone is continuing to indicate a strong base-metal system at depth with wide intersections of >1% combined zinc and lead. Hole BD17018 tested the northern along strike extents of the Bundarra Zone and recorded 28 metres averaging 159g/t silver equivalent from 165 metres down hole. This intersection is located approximately 60 metres north of the existing resource and remains open to the north. | |
