ABSTRACT: | Rockcliff Metals Corp.’s wholly owned SLG Property lies within the vast metallic mineral rich Flin Flon greenstone belt {FFB or FFGB} and Kisseynew metasedimentary domain within the Snow Lake arc assemblage adjacent to the western edge of the Superior Province craton of the Canadian Shield. On a continental scale, the SLG Property claim block falls within the southwestern portion of theTrans-Hudson Orogen {THO} aged from about 2.45 to 1.83 Ga {billion years}. This region plays host to an unparalleled bounty of 27 past and present producing mines that have yielded greater than 400 million tons of copper-zinc-gold-silver VMS deposits, and a windfall of over 1.6 million ounces of lode-style gold. The property is centered about four kilometres north of the Town of Snow Lake and can be accessed via a network of dirt roads and trails. Physiography and vegetation can be characterized as typical northern Canadian Shield type boreal forests, muskeg, water features and moderate relied of a few tens of metres. Several key areas of interest have been identified within the confines of the SLG Property in close proximity to prominent water features such as the Angus Bay – Birch Lake – Cleaver Lake – Compton Lake – Herblet Lake – Mcleod Lake – Squall Lake – Wolverton Lake areas. Metallic mineral exploration, on and around the SLG Property, covers several decades, from present day to past operations that date back to the 1920’s {first reported} and commenced in earnest during the second world war in the 1940’s. Numerous organizations, individual prospectors and joint venture opportunists, have employed a vast array of both surface and airborne exploration methods to identify the presence of metallic mineral deposits. Given the dominance of vegetation, soil, muskeg and water features, limited outcrop geological mapping and prospecting was augmented by employing airborne and surface electromagnetic, magnetic and induced polarization / resistivity surveys. Additionally, soil and flora biogeochemical sampling, mobile metal ion surveys and trench excavation for near subsurface prospecting and mapping was completed to enhance the knowledge for subsequent diamond drill-core exploration. | |
