| ABSTRACT: | Australian lithium producer, Pilbara Minerals Limited (ASX: PLS) (“Pilbara Minerals” or “Company”) is pleased to announce a 35% increase in the JORC Ore Reserve estimate for its 100%-owned Pilgangoora Lithium-Tantalum Project in Western Australia (Figure 1), supporting both the Stage 2, 5Mtpa expansion as well as the scope for further growth in the project. The expanded Ore Reserve of 108.2 Mt grading 1.25% Li2O, 120 ppm Ta2O5 and 1.17% Fe2O3 has been estimated from an upgraded JORC Mineral Resource of 226.0 Mt @ 1.27% Li2O containing an estimated 2.86 Mt of Li2O. There is significant potential for further increases in both the global Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve inventory, with customer demand supporting the opportunity for further growth beyond Stage 2. Pilbara Minerals’ Managing Director, Ken Brinsden, said “The continued growth in Ore Reserves reflected the quality and scale of the Pilgangoora project and truly sets the scene for our Stage 2, 5Mtpa expansion”. Mr Brinsden added. “Given the rapid escalation in customer demand, the robust outlook for the lithium market and continued increases in the Resource and Ore Reserve, we have every reason to believe that Pilgangoora’s production can continue to grow over time, subject of course to completing the appropriate studies.” | |
