| ABSTRACT: | Orion Minerals NL (ASX/JSE: ORN) (Orion or the Company) is pleased to announce that assay results of drill testing the Deep Sulphide Target at its Prieska Zinc-Copper (Prieska) Project in South Africa continues to deliver excellent intersections that validate historic drill and modelled data. Assays have been received for a further two drill holes drilled with the objective of validating historically defined mineralisation drilled at the Deep Sulphide Target. OCOD048_D2 was drilled as a deflection from OCOD048 and intersected mineralisation 21m from OCOD048 and 27m away from the historic hole F2007 drilled from underground (Figure 3). The correlation between these holes is shown in table 1. The intersection in OCOD048_D2 confirms the expected depth, width and grade of mineralisation in a historically drilled area and therefore is an important result in verifying historic results for use in Mineral Resource estimations (as defined in the Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves (JORC Code)). Drill hole OCOD065 tested mineralisation 160m east of OCOD048_D2 (Figure 4) and intersected 7.25m at 5.07% Zn, 1.09% Cu, 0.22g/t Au and 6.7g/t Ag. Underground drilling at Prieska is currently targeting mineralisation at the +105 Level Target (Open Pit). The program is utilising the recently accessed underground workings to infill drill and extend mineralisation drilled from surface in 2016 and 2017 (Figure 5). To date, assay results have confirmed the presence of high grade supergene mineralisation 225m along strike from mineralisation previously intersected from surface, consistent with Orion’s exploration model for the +105 Level Target. | |
