| ABSTRACT: | Orion Gold NL (ASX: ORN) is pleased to advise that follow-up drilling has resumed at the Kantienpan Zinc-Copper Deposit in the Northern Cape Province, South Africa as newly received assay results confirm the discovery of a significant zone with high-grade zinc mineralisation. Drilling completed in December 2016 tested the modelled position of the KN1 Conductor, a strong and sizeable conductor detected in Orion’s highpowered ground electromagnetic (EM) survey in late 2016, with thick zones of disseminated and massive sulphides intersected (refer ASX Releases 7 December 2016 and 14 December 2016). Down-hole EM surveys completed on both OKND016 and OKND017 enabled the model of the KN1 conductor to be refined. The survey indicates that the strongest response is located between, and slightly deeper (down-dip on the horizon) than the zone of massive and disseminated sulphides intersected in these holes (Figure 2). Based on the intersections in OKND016 and OKND017, the strongest response is likely to correlate with zones containing a greater proportion of massive sulphides. Drilling is currently underway to test this portion of the target, with hole OKND018B currently at 96m down-hole (Figure 3). The Company has also commenced its 2017 drilling at the Prieska Zinc-Copper Project, testing near-surface targets (refer ASX releases 23 November 2016 and 7 December 2016). In addition, drilling is continuing at the Marydale Gold-Copper Project to test significant induced polarisation (IP) anomalies delineated in a recent survey by the Company, as discussed in the ASX releases of 23 November 2016 and 7 December 2016. | |
