| ABSTRACT: | The purpose of this report is to provide an update, for public disclosure, of the Rainy River Mine (Rainy River or the Mine) operations, near Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada, and to support the Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimates for the Mine as of June 30, 2018. This Technical Report conforms to National Instrument 43-101 Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects (NI 43-101). New Gold Inc. (New Gold) is an intermediate gold mining company with four producing assets. The New Afton and Rainy River Mines in Canada, the Mesquite Mine in the United States and the Cerro San Pedro Mine in Mexico (which transitioned to residual leaching in 2016) provide the company with its current production base. In addition, New Gold owns 100% of the development stage Blackwater project located in British Columbia, Canada. New Gold completed a takeover of Rainy River Resources Ltd. (RRR) on October 15, 2013. The Rainy River Mine is 100% owned and operated by New Gold. The Mine commenced processing ore on September 14, 2017 and subsequently announced its first gold pour on October 6, 2017. Commercial production was achieved in mid-October. From an accounting perspective, New Gold recognizes commercial production effective November 1, 2017. In 2017, the Mine produced 37,047 ounces of gold. | |
