| ABSTRACT: | The Board of Nelson Resources Limited (ASX:NES) (Nelson or the Company) is pleased to announce the Company’s second phase RC drilling campaign completed at the Socrates Gold Project has returned multiple significant drilling intercepts. The results returned have indicated a considerably larger gold mineralising system than previously envisaged. CEO Adam Schofield stated, “This is a fantastic result for the Nelson team and the Socrates Project, with the mineralised strike increasing more than threefold in length, intersecting 192m of mineralisation open at depth, thus proving the mineralised system to be even larger than we imagined. Combining our current work with the integration and re-interpretation of historic work by the Sipa-Newmont Exploration Limited JV has considerably enhanced our understanding of the controls and distribution of the gold mineralisation at Socrates. Our latest drilling has now confirmed that the mineralisation consists of a series of multiple stacked lodes, which strike 60 to 70 degrees to the North East, therefore the optimal drilling direction is 155 degrees to the South East. Given none of the holes drilled to date by Nelson or Sipa-Newmont have been best orientated to intersect the mineralisation, we are very excited by what results our next optimised drilling program will deliver.” | |
