| ABSTRACT: | Matador Mining Limited (ASX: MZZ) is pleased to advise the completion its maiden drilling program at the Company’s 100% owned Oriental Gold Project located 40km to the north of Kalgoorlie. Mineralisation was intersected down dip of the previously defined mineralisation providing further confidence in the geometry and extent of mineralisation at Oriental. Two RC drill holes were completed for 374m of total drilling, all intervals were submitted for analysis. The board is now evaluating the upside of further drilling of Oriental Gold Project pending a review of the new data and ranking against other existing opportunities. The Oriental Gold Project (Oriental) is located 40km to the north of Kalgoorlie and 8km to the East of Broad Arrow township in Western Australia. Access to Oriental from Kalgoorlie is via the Goldfields Highway for 38km thence via existing haul road and exploration tracks for 10km to site. Gold mineralisation at Oriental comprises of multiple, east north east striking, northnorthwest dipping lodes generally 2-3m thick. These lodes remain open at depth and in both strike directions. Primary gold mineralisation is associated with pyrite-silica-hematitesericite-albite±biotite-carbonate altered granodiorite. Very high grade zones of mineralisation have a core of laminated sheeted pyritic quartz veins. The granodiorite host rock is hornblende rich and biotite poor at Oriental. | |
