ABSTRACT:Marindi provides the following update regarding exploration progress at the Gem Pegmatite Mining Lease at Forrestania. The reverse circulation drill rig has demobilised from site and will return in mid-January 2017. Results from sampling the individual 1m intervals over the previously reported high grade zone in hole GRC6 have confirmed the original data – (refer ASX release 20 December 2016). One metre samples for the interval 69-102m assayed 33m at 3.2 % Li2O versus 34m at 3.1% Li2O from the initial two metre sample composites. This zone includes a higher-grade zone from 81m-94m that assayed 13m at 4.0% Li2O from the one metre samples versus 10m at 4.2 % Li2O from the two metre composites. Pulps from the composites have been submitted for XRD analysis to identify the minerals hosting the lithium. A preliminary report indicates the main lithium minerals are spodumene and petalite, a comparable mineral suite present in the neighbouring Earl Grey deposit, (Refer KDR ASX release December 5 2016.) Importantly, no lepidolite was observed. A further 8 holes have been completed since the 20 December 2016 ASX release and pegmatite material was intersected in holes GRC2, GRC3, GRC6, GRC8 and GRC10. Assays from all samples of pegmatitic material submitted have now been received with significant lithium assays above 0.3% Li2O being present in hole GRC6 only.
