| ABSTRACT: | Marindi Metals Limited (ASX: MZN) is pleased to provide an update on drilling activities completed towards the end of 2018 at the Caranbirini Zinc Joint Venture Project in the Northern Territory. As part of its joint venture with Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC), Marindi successfully drilled two out of three planned diamond drill-holes into the highly-prospective McArthur Group sedimentary sequence, host to, and less than 10km from the world-class McArthur River zinc-lead operation, owned and operated by Glencore Plc (see Figure 2). Both holes were drilled to final depth of over 1,000m to fully test the CSIRO geophysical interpretation and stratigraphic sequence over Targets A and B. Target J could not be tested due to the discovery and notification of a broad area of native title significance over the planned collar position just prior to drilling. Drilling was completed on-time and within budget. Diamond core was logged and cut and dispatched to the laboratory for analysis prior to Christmas. Given the large amount of core involved, assay results were only received recently. A summary of assays is provided in Table 1 below, and drill-hole collar information is provided in Table 2. | |
