| ABSTRACT: | TORONTO, ON – November 30, 2017 – Marathon Gold Corporation (“Marathon” or the “Company”) (MOZ: TSX) has established a new Mineral Resource Estimate for its 100% owned Valentine Lake Property prepared under the direction of John T. Boyd Company in accordance with National Instrument 43-101 (“NI 43-101”). “Valentine Lake now hosts the largest gold resource in Atlantic Canada. The most dramatic increase in resources is within the Marathon Deposit which has expanded to the southwest near surface and to depths of 1 kilometer and is still open. Overall, the open pit grades for all of the gold deposits remain in the 2gram gold range and the underground resource at the Marathon Deposit has increased in grade and size. All the deposits remain open in one or more directions. In 2018 Marathon Gold will resume its aggressive drilling program to explore for new deposits along the 30km gold trend it controls and to expand the known deposits,” said Phillip Walford President and CEO of Marathon. The Valentine Lake Property is under the direct supervision of Ms Sherry Dunsworth, P.Geo., Senior Vice President of Exploration for Marathon Gold Corporation. Ms Sherry Dunsworth is defined as a Qualified Person as defined by the National Instrument 43-101. Robert J. Farmer, P. Eng. of John T. Boyd Company is responsible for the completion of the resource update and is an independent Qualified Person as defined by the National Instrument 43-101. | |
