| ABSTRACT: | Mantle Mining Corporation Limited (ASX: MNM) (‘Mantle’ or ‘the Company’) provides the following update relating to new assays and previously unreleased drill results from the Morning Star and Rose of Denmark gold mines in eastern Victoria. “These new results confirm the existence of a well-developed gold-bearing reef structure easily accessible from the Morning Star Creek adit,” said Dr Rick Valenta, Executive Director of Mantle Mining. “Drilling is well known to underestimate grade at Morning Star due to the nuggetty nature of the mineralisation, so the most significant result from this drilling is that the vein is welldeveloped over good mineable widths, and shows strong evidence that it is gold-bearing. Having confirmed the presence of the structure, we have now commenced a program of underground sampling where possible in order to get a more accurate estimate of grades. In early 2012, the former management of Morning Star Gold NL began to recognise the potential of the Stacpoole reef (which they named Donaldson’s) to host high grade gold ore at shallow and relatively accessible levels within the Morning Star Mine. They commenced a program of underground drilling from 4 level (approximately 120 metres below surface) and completed 8 holes for a total of 700 metres of drilling. The drilling was aimed at testing the Stacpoole reef, but sampling of the core was not completed and the assays were never released. | |
