| ABSTRACT: | Kidman Resources Limited (ASX: KDR) (“Kidman”) is pleased to announce that the next stage of drilling at the Earl Grey Lithium deposit is progressing on schedule with assay results from the first twelve holes reflecting the continued high grade nature and strong lithium mineral continuity reflected in the maiden resource delivered in December 2016. Metallurgical testwork is continuing as planned and a further detailed metallurgical update will be provided next week. Holes KEGM0013-16 are still being processed onsite with observations of the geology consistent with all work done to date. The work undertaken by Kidman in Q1 of 2017 has focused on implementing its plan to progress to production as soon as possible. The work undertaken has included mine planning to determine the stage one mining area design, geotechnical drilling, logging & review and strength testing (unconfined compressive strength UCS) to determine the appropriate batter heights and angles as well as berm widths, all of which thus far has indicated a highly optimal first stage open pit. Hydrogeology testing completed under the supervision of external consultants Groundwater Resource Management has shown that groundwater within the Earl Grey Lithium Resource Area to be manageable with significant water sources identified that could be used for future Mine Production activities. Conceptual Mine Design and processing pathways are also being actively explored. The newly acquired tenements directly east of the Earl Grey Resource will offer increased flexibility for mine design as well as considerable potential for an upgrade in the Lithium resource endowment of Mt Holland. Additionally, the environmental studies (flora, fauna, waste characterisation) at Mt Holland to support a Mining Proposal application to the Western Australian Department of Mines & Petroleum (DMP) are continuing to progress. | |
