| ABSTRACT: | Jangada Mines plc, a natural resources company developing South America's largest and most advanced platinum group metals ('PGM') project, is pleased to announce the issuance of the Environmental Licence required for trial mining at the Pedra Branca Project by the Ceara State Environmental Department ("SEMACE"). The Environmental Licence for trial mining has been issued following an application made by the Company to SEMACE late last year (as per announcement dated 17 December 2017). The Environmental Licence is the final requirement before the Company can submit an application for a Trial Mining Licence with the Departamento Nacional de Produção Mineral("DNPM"). The Company intends to lodge an application for a trial mining licence in Q4 2018. Brian McMaster, Chairman of Jangada said, "Obtaining environmental approval is a critical step in the ongoing development process at the Pedra Branca Project. Generally, the preparation for environmental approvals can be a lengthy process and receiving the approval now validates our decision to engage in this process during 2017. With the Environmental Licence in place we are now equipped to make an application for a trial mining permit. Although we do not intend trial mining until post BFS, it will be sensible to obtain the permit early so that we are prepared to proceed expeditiously following completion of the BFS. "Following our recently announced finance package, the Company is pushing forward quickly with its BFS and related exploration activities. We expect to be in a position to update our shareholders regularly in the upcoming months as we rapidly progress towards development through the remainder of 2018 and into 2019." | |
