| ABSTRACT: | The Kamoa-Kakula 2016 Resource Technical Report is a prefeasibility study (PFS) prepared for Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. (Ivanhoe or the Company), to provide an independent Technical Report (the Report) for the Kamoa-Kakula Project (the Project) located in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The Project includes the Kamoa and newly-discovered Kakula stratiform copper deposits. The Project was formerly known as the Kamoa Copper Project. The Project is situated in the Kolwezi District of Lualaba Province, DRC. The Project is located within the Central African Copperbelt, approximately 25 km west of the provincial capital of Kolwezi and about 270 km west of the regional centre of Lubumbashi. The previous Technical Report was the Kamoa 2016 Prefeasibility Study (Kamoa 2016 PFS) on the Kamoa deposit. Ivanhoe has undertaken further mineral resource studies following the Kamoa 2016 PFS that has formed the basis of the Kamoa 2016 Resource Technical Report, which summarises the current Ivanhoe development strategy for the Kamoa Project. The Kamoa-Kakula 2016 Resource Technical Report provides an update of the Kamoa Project Mineral Resource, with the Mineral Reserve from the Kamoa 2016 PFS remaining the same. Aside from the updated Mineral Resource, further study work is currently incomplete and has not determined any results that require material changes to the Kamoa 2016 PFS.
