| ABSTRACT: | Highlands Pacific Ltd (ASX:HIG) has received assay results from further drilling at the Star Mountains project in PNG confirming extensive copper and gold mineralisation at the Fune prospect. The fourth hole at Fune was completed on August 2, reaching a depth of 908 metres. The results are consistent with geology and grades seen in the third hole at Fune. The highest grades occur in skarns developed near the boundary of the marble (Darai Limestone) and the hornfels (Feing Formation). Drilling has resumed at the Olgal prospect to the south east of Fune, where several holes were drilled in the 2015 campaign, revealing extended zones of mineralisation. Drilling has now reached approximately 200 metres, with a final depth expected to be about 600 metres, targeting extensions to known mineralisation. This is expected to be the final hole in the current campaign. Highlands CEO Craig Lennon said the latest results were encouraging, showing thick, high grade skarn intercepts. “We continue to be excited about the prospects for the Star Mountains project. The drilling is consistently generating results that confirm the presence of extensive mineralisation and we continue to believe that further work may lead to definition of a substantial resource in the future,” he said.
