| ABSTRACT: | Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX: GMR) (Golden Rim or the Company) is pleased to provide the results of a followup RC drilling program on the recent Red Hill gold discovery which lies 4.5km southwest of the 1Moz gold Mineral Resource at its 100% owned Kouri Gold Project (Kouri) in Burkina Faso (Figure 1). Red Hill RC Drilling The follow-up RC drilling program at Red Hill consisted of 14 holes (NKRC032 – NKRC043, NKRC045 and NKRC035R) for 1,805m (Figures 2 and 3). A series of fences of holes were drilled along the originally interpreted strike to the northeast and to the southwest of the discovery holes, NKRC030 (11m at 2.2g/t gold from 77m, including 2m at 7.7g/t gold, and 1m at 4.6g/t gold from 114m) and NKRC031 (16m at 1.8 g/t gold from 29m and 10m at 2.2g/t gold from 52m). Assays have been received for all of the holes. Hole details are provided in Tables 1 and significant assay results are listed in Table 2. Hole locations are depicted on Figures 2 and 3. New gold intercepts have outlined significant gold mineralisation at Red Hill over 200m. The gold mineralisation remains open along strike and at depth. New intercepts include. The drilling has revealed that gold mineralisation at Red Hill is predominantly hosted within a newly identified basalt unit, which strikes east-west, and is associated with an extensive magnetic high anomaly (Figure 2). It is believed this basalt unit may extend for at least 7km and offers an exciting new exploration target. Most of the new follow-up holes did not test the peak of the magnetic anomaly. To date only the two discovery holes, NKRC030 and NKRC031, and four new holes NKRC033, NKRC037 – NKRC039, have tested the peak of the magnetic anomaly. All of these holes have intersected significant gold mineralisation. The basalt unit at Red Hill is the first major basalt unit to be located by Golden Rim in its drilling at Kouri. Most of the gold mineralisation discovered to date, including the mineralisation comprising the 1Moz Mineral Resource is hosted in andesite rocks. | |
