ABSTRACT:Galileo Mining Ltd (ASX: GAL, “Galileo” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the first laboratory assay results from maiden aircore drilling at the Company’s Lantern Prospect within the Fraser Range province in Western Australia. Assays are from the first 14 drill holes completed at the Lantern Prospect which were drilled on a 200m spacing with a 50-metre spacing around the zone of interest. Commenting on the initial results, Galileo Managing Director Brad Underwood said that to intersect anomalous nickel and copper from the first line of drilling ever undertaken at the Lantern Prospect was a good sign. “The Lantern Prospect has not previously been explored due to the shallow cover in the area. Galileo has been fortunate to hit anomalous nickel and copper in the first drill line given the scale of the target which covers an area over four square kilometres in size. This is an encouraging sign of the potential for the Lantern Prospect to contain economic mineralisation at shallow depths. Cover rock in the area is approximately 60 metres deep which prevents any surface sign of mineralisation. However, 60m is relatively shallow for modern exploration and mining methods,” Mr Underwood said. “Drilling is continuing at the Lantern Prospect with a further 3,000 metres of first pass aircore drilling planned for this phase of exploration. We look forward to updating the market with further information as we progress the development of this exciting new prospect.” A total of 14 drill holes have been assayed so far at the Lantern Prospect. Samples were collected as 3 metre composites from the Proterozoic regolith unconformity to the fresh rock interface. Depth of cover varied from 41m to 70m with an average of 56m. The initial drill results relate to the line of drilling in Figures 2 and 3 with the anomalous drill holes shown in section view in Figure 4. Table 1 contains the anomalous drill results and Table 2 lists the collar locations and drill depths of all holes on the section line. All holes were drilled to the bed rock interface beneath the cover sediments. The majority of holes within the interpreted intrusion finished in metamorphosed mafic rock units with variable textures.
