| ABSTRACT: | Excelsior Gold Limited (ASX: EXG) (“the Company” or “Excelsior”) is pleased to provide the following update on infill RC drilling at the Zoroastrian deposit (Figure 1) within the Company’s 100%-owned Kalgoorlie North Gold Project (“KNGP”), located 30 to 55km north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The current fullyfunded 33,000m drilling program continues to work towards upgrading and adding to KNGP’s 954,000- ounce gold resource base with the objective of rebuilding the project’s reserves, while continuing to explore the highly prospective project area for new discoveries. Zoroastrian Resource Upgrade Drilling Ongoing infill RC drilling at Zoroastrian has continued to return results that could potentially support both open pit and underground mining. The drilling has also added support to the interpreted multi-lode system below, immediately adjacent to and south of the completed Zoroastrian open pit. Significant new intersections include Diamond core drilling commenced during December and, after the Christmas/New Year break, is planned to recommence on 9 January 2018. First assay results are anticipated in late January 2018, the current Zoroastrian diamond drilling program will run through to early March. The drilling will test for high grade mineralisation in Blueys Lode as well as providing important geotechnical, structural and lithological information in areas of minimal drilling, allowing for the resource to be upgraded in confidence. | |
