| ABSTRACT: | SRK Consulting (SA) Pty Ltd (“SRK”) has been contracted by Barplats Limited (“Barplats”) to do a Mineral Resource Estimate based on a sampling campaign conducted by Barplats and the most recent survey results, and to issue a Technical Report prepared in accordance with the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and Petroleum (“CIM”) Standards on reporting of Mineral Resources and Reserves, 2002, in compliance with the requirements of National Instrument 43-101 (“NI 43-101”) Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects, for the Zandfontein UG2 Tailings Storage Facility (“TSF”), located near Brits in the North West Province, South Africa. The reported grades are estimated for three of the Platinum Group Elements combined (“3E PGEs”), and then also separately as platinum (“Pt”), palladium (“Pd”), rhodium (“Rh”), and also for gold (“Au”) and chromium oxide (“Cr2O3”). The Barplats Crocodile River mining operation is situated close to Hartebeesport Dam in the North West Province within the Bushveld Complex (“BC”) in South Africa. The operation is located on the western limb of the BC and comprises the Crocodile River new order mining rights for Eastern Platinum Limited (“Eastplats”) (Registered under Barplats, Registration Number 1986/005057/06). The Zandfontein UG2 TSF is situated on the farm Zandfontein - 447 JQ. Barplats intends to re-mine these tailings and reprocess the material to extract PGEs, Au and Cr2O3. The study incorporates the latest information from the 2016 auger exploration drilling and sampling programme done at Barplats. The 3E PGEs (“Pt, Pd, and Rh”), Au and Cr2O3 content in the Barplats Zandfontein UG2 tailings resource is estimated and stated in this report. The effective date of this report is August the 1st 2017, and it documents a Mineral Resource statement issued by SRK for Barplats on the Zandfontein UG2 TSF that occurs on the farm Zandfontein - 447 JQ. The Resource estimate for the TSF has defined and classified the Mineral Resources contained within it as Measured and Indicated. The report summarizes the technical information available on the Zandfontein UG2 TSF Project and demonstrates that the Resource can be estimated with sufficient confidence to undertake a pre-feasibility study. | |
