| ABSTRACT: | Eastern Goldfields Limited (ASX:EGS) (Eastern Goldfields or the Company) is pleased to announce that Reverse Circulation drilling on the Walhalla North Prospect (WNP) at Davyhurst in Western Australia has returned encouraging results. The WNP is approximately 14 kilometres south of the Company’s 1.2Mtpa processing plant. A project review of the Round Dam mineralised trend identified the potential source for shallow oxide resources at this location, in the area between the Walhalla and Federal Flag pits. Of particular interest was historical drilling results including 8m @ 17.14g/t, 8m @ 14.64g/t and 4m @ 20.53g/t within the WNP. The WNP is situated midway between the Federal Flag and Walhalla open pits which are 1.1 kilometres apart. Walhalla and Federal Flag deposits were both mined in 2007 and 2008 as part of the greater Davyhurst Project. The current drill program was designed to: assist in the development of structural and geological models for the WNP, primarily aided by diamond drilling; confirm the location and tenor of the existing drilling via a twin hole; and provide additional data required to validate a Mineral Resource estimate. | |
