| ABSTRACT: | Eastern Goldfields Limited (ASX: EGS) (Eastern Goldfields or the Company) is pleased to announce results from additional drilling at its Siberia Mining Centre, located approximately 120km north west of Kalgoorlie and 35km south east from the Company’s Davyhurst mill (Figure 1). Infill drilling continues to confirm existing lode interpretations that will be accessed by open pit mining. Extensional drilling continues to define significant mineralisation below the proposed pit that will now feed into future underground mining studies. Results include 8.7m @ 6.60g/t Au below the proposed pit floor (Figure 3). As part of the ongoing enhancements to the Siberia geological models, a large scale re‐log of historical diamond core has occurred. Previously restrictive sampling protocols had resulted in nontarget ore zones being left unsampled. Upon review, the Company’s geologists have identified additional zones of mineralisation for sampling, with several returning significant grades (2.5m @ 6.11g/t Au and 4.3m @ 2.96g/t Au). Further sampling is scheduled over the coming weeks. Executive Chairman Michael Fotios said: “The resource definition drilling results continue to provide encouragement and confidence in the open pit mining model. We are also pleased to see success stemming from the deeper extension drilling as we progress to underground evaluation work.” | |
