| ABSTRACT: | Eastern Goldfields Limited (ASX: EGS) (Eastern Goldfields or the Company) is pleased to announce results from drilling at its Callion deposit (Callion), located approximately 120 kilometres north west of Kalgoorlie and 13 kilometres south west of the Davyhurst Mill. Following previously announced drilling success at Callion (see ASX announcement 10 January 2017), this latest round of results now provides sufficient information for the Company to complete a Mineral Resource upgrade and subsequent economic assessment. The existing Mineral Resource of 169Kt @ 2.6g/t for 14koz only represents remnant open pit resource, while the planned update will incorporate both open pit and underground resource potential. The conceptual development plan for the Callion deposit includes an open pit cut back to establish portal access, followed by remnant underground mining within the historical mine, leading to virgin underground mining at depth. Executive Chairman Michael Fotios said: “The high grade results from Callion drilling represent an important stage in the development of the project, confirming the open pit and underground mining potential of the deposit. Work now continues on updating the Mineral Resource which will enable detailed economic evaluation and mine planning. The ultimate intention is to deliver higher grade feed to our fully operational Davyhurst Mill, enhancing early cash flows from the project.” | |
