| ABSTRACT: | The most significant of these intersections is within fresh rock, approximately 90 metres below the surface. This is important as it reinforces the continuity of mineralisation at depth. Wide intersections of greater than 20m (downhole) exceeding 1 g/t Au have now been outlined over 500 metres. Additionally, the host rock has now been chemically identified as a fractionated dolerite sill, overturned and younging to the west that is over 100m wide in areas. Within this dolerite sill the most fractionated part, a quartz - magnetite rich unit up to 80m wide, appears to be the preferential host of the gold mineralisation. These latest results, along with significant historic intersections (see ASX Announcements 6 August 2018, 17 July 2018, 19 April 2018, 19 December 2017 and 23 October 2017) continue to reinforce the potential of a major new discovery at Golden Star that is continuous over 600 metres of strike and remains open both to the north, south and down dip. High grades, up to 60g/t Au, continue to be intersected as does substantial plus 50 gram metre intersections and in places plus 90 gram metre intersections. Mineralisation occurs within 4m of the surface in places and high grades are seen throughout the mineralisation. Sulphides and some quartz veining have been identified north and south of this main zone of mineralisation. The prospect is along the same geological trend from the Rosemont Gold Mine and is approximately 25km south of Regis Resources Garden Well mine and processing facility (see Figure 1). | |
