| ABSTRACT: | CGA2 was drilled at a 60 degree angle under the filled in mine workings, targeting a magnetic ridge that was coincident with high copper geochemistry and low leached outcrops with fine veinlet – disseminated (porphyry copper) textures. The old minesin this area worked larger veins and breccias with more massive mineralization, not typical of porphyry style. Some of the larger veins were intersected, mainly near the top of the hole, but the significant intersection was the 156m of quartz veinlet and crackle vein disseminated porphyry mineralization dipping steeply south from the leached outcrop of interest. A second diamond hole CGA5 was drilled 4 km to the northeast into the extensive copper molybdenum mineralised breccias at Marodian. The complex breccia body is not on a magnetic ridge in this location. This hole intercepted copper molybdenum mineralization throughout – 362.8m @ 0.17% copper and 58 ppm molybdenum, with a best 24m @ 0.5% copper and 40 ppm molybdenum from 82m. The best copper in this hole was also associated with local visibly increased magnetite. Normal porphyry copper zoning was not apparent in this hole. Auburn geological mapping of the alteration zones confirms a gentle regional east‐northeasterly dip to the mineralization, with the top of the ore zone shallowly buried to the northeast of CGA2. Conversely, the Calgoa deposit will immediately underlie the alluvium to the southwest. | |
