| ABSTRACT: | Catalyst Metals Limited (Catalyst or the Company) (ASX: CYL) is pleased to advise that its diamond drilling programme at the Four Eagles Gold Project has confirmed the upper shallow gold mineralisation at Boyd’s Dam as well as intersecting several repetitions of gold mineralisation at deeper levels. This has provided confidence that stacked high grade gold shoots similar to Bendigo and Fosterville may be present at Four Eagles. Six diamond drill holes were completed at the Boyd’s Dam Prospect for a total of 1,786 metres with assays received for five holes to date. The final hole FEDD020 has recently been logged and sampled with assay results anticipated in mid-November 2018. At the Hayanmi prospect, seven diamond drill holes were completed for a total of 2,189 metres. Assays remain outstanding for three of these holes, and as such will be reported separately after a full interpretation. Meticulous logging (description) and sampling of diamond drill cores is a very time-consuming process but is essential to understand the complex geological relationships encountered, particularly during the initial phases of deeper drilling as undertaken in this area where no previous drilling has penetrated deeper than 120 metres. At present a dedicated Senior Geologist is engaged for all drill core to ensure consistency and high standards. The detailed logging of the diamond drill core enables the geologists to define the position of the anticlines and fault structures that are so important for gold mineralisation. | |
