| ABSTRACT: | Caravel Minerals (ASX: CVV, Caravel or Company) is pleased to announce further assay results from the recently completed 6‐hole diamond drilling program at the Caravel Copper Project (Figure 1). The drill holes targeted high grade domains and are part of a work program commenced by the Company in July 2018 to test and update the previous resource model. Core from the program is also being used for geotechnical and metallurgical test work/studies. A summary of results from 18CADD005 drilled at the Bindi Hinge zone (part of the Bindi deposit) are presented in Table 1 Diamond hole 18CADD005 intersected two significant higher grade zones interpreted to be the upper and lower limbs of an overturned fold (Figure 2). Fabric orientations from the oriented core show the upper limb is dipping approximately 30 degrees to the northwest and the lower limb approximately 40 degrees to the west. In both cases the interpreted dips from core agree well with the position of mineralised zones in adjacent holes, providing good confidence in the interpretation. Mineralisation in both limbs remains open at depth. The good grades and thickness in the lower intersection from 18CADD005 indicates the continuation of a wide ore zone below the previously modelled pit floor, as illustrated in Figure 2, and it is expected the new pit models will extend significantly deeper in this area. | |
