ABSTRACT: | Boadicea Resources Ltd (ASX: BOA) is pleased to provide an update on exploration activities at the Symons Hill Ni-Cu Project located at Fraser Range in Western Australia. Aircore drilling of an initial 7 geophysical targets as well as step-out drilling west and north of the Red Cap Prospect was completed during October 2016 with a total of 183 holes for 5,506m being drilled with an average hole depth of 30m (Figure 1, Appendix 1). Detailed geological analysis of all collected datasets (geology, magnetic susceptibility, PXRF multielement analysis, bottom of hole multielement assaying and re-sample assaying) in conjunction with available geophysical and geochemical datasets has been completed. This work has successfully highlighted two areas with potential mafic-ultramafic intrusive rocks, which, as at Nova-Bollinger, may host nickel-copper mineralisation. As part of the aircore drilling program, three drill traverses were completed across the prominent NE-SW trending gravity anomaly located proximal to the Red Cap Prospect (Figure 1). The aim of these drill traverses was to confirm the presence of favourable mafic/ultramafic host rocks using both geological observations and multielement geochemistry (the favourable host rocks have a distinct geochemical signature). The most southerly of these traverses, located ~800m west of Red Cap, comprised 4 holes and intersected felsic, mafic and ultramafic rocks (Figure 2). This area has been named the Trumpeter Prospect. While a number of holes returned favourable geochemistry (Appendix 1), a best drill intersection of 4m @ 0.11% Ni, 174ppm Cu, 173ppm Co & 0.16% Cr was returned from 14m to EOH in hole 16BAC163. These results are considered encouraging, particularly for a single line of aircore drilling, and follow-up exploration activities are currently being planned and permitted. | |
