ABSTRACT:Matador Mining Limited (ASX: MZZ “Matador” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce the results from the initial sampling of historic core from the Cape Ray Gold Project (the “Project”). Managing Director, Paul Criddle commented, “These sampling results are encouraging in that we have been able to add new zones of mineralisation without drilling. The core intervals sampled to date represent over 5,200m of drilling. These results provide further validation of the current foreign estimate while demonstrating expansion potential in places such as Isle aux Mort, Big Pond and Window Glass Hill at our Cape Ray Project. We will use these initial positive results to update the Cape Ray resource in the 3rd quarter of 2018. I am looking forward to my first visit to site later this week which will be followed by a North American and Australian roadshow, culminating with my attendance to the Diggers and Dealers conference in Kalgoorlie in early August”. Core Sampling As stated in the 5th April 2018 announcement, Matador intends to undertake a sampling program so as to confirm and update the existing foreign estimate. Historic core is stored at State core libraries and at the Project site. This first round of sampling, which has sourced core from the State core libraries, will be followed by sampling of the core that is stored at the Project site. In some instances, the previous Project operators used selective sampling strategies that resulted in incomplete sampling of the mineralised interval which was illustrated by the many sample intervals terminating in mineralisation. The Matador team, believes that there is an opportunity to extend and infill some of the already defined mineralised envelopes by sampling the intervals that have been overlooked in past sampling.
