| ABSTRACT: | ASX: AVB (‘AVANCO’ OR ‘THE COMPANY’) is pleased to announce positive assay results from the maiden drill hole testing EM (electromagnetic) conductors on a new target 400 metres northeast of the Antas Mine. Further to previous announcements, the Company confirms positive assay results from hole AAND- 100. The intersection of economic IOCG1 mineralisation in the maiden drill hole on this new target, located close to the operating Antas Mine2 , is an encouraging start to near-mine exploration. As anticipated, the best result was returned from the lower part of the mineralised zone3 . Results include 8.60m @ 1.30% Cu, 1.36g/t Au from 75.55m (downhole depth). The higher concentrations of gangue sulphides in the core may be an indication that the Antas orebody is part of a larger mineralised system. This is further supported by the high gold content, which is also a common feature of the Antas orebody. Director of Exploration, Simon Mottram commented: “The discovery of additional ore to extend the life of Antas is an exploration priority and I am highly encouraged that the results from the first hole already demonstrate this potential. The application of the EM equipment over Antas is proving to be successful, and with the follow up drilling already underway, I am confident that the wider Antas licence area will prove itself to be fertile.” Further drilling has already commenced with 3 additional holes, which should be completed and assayed by the end August 2017. | |
