ABSTRACT:The purpose of this document is to list and describe the multiple opportunities that exist to expand the current copper resource in and around the former Viscaria copper mine in the Kiruna district of northern Sweden. The Viscaria copper deposits are located five kilometres northwest of the world’s largest underground iron-ore mine - “Kirunavarra” - which is operated by LKAB. The Viscaria copper deposits and adjacent copper prospects held by Avalon Minerals in the Kiruna district are Besshi-style VMS copper deposits and iron-oxide copper deposits. The Viscaria copper deposit (A and B Zones) was initially mined by LKAB and then by Outokumpu from 1983 to 1997 when the mine was closed primarily due to a weakening copper price. Most of the mined ore was sourced from A Zone. The B Zone deposit was accessed via a drive from the A Zone underground workings at 80m below surface. B Zone ore only contributed 30,000 tonnes to production which is less than 1% of total production from Viscaria. B Zone was only ever partially drilled. During mining operations, very limited drilling was performed at the D Zone deposit. Avalon Minerals Ltd has defined copper resource estimates in the Measured, Indicated and Inferred resource categories for the A Zone and B Zone deposits, and in the Indicated and Inferred resource categories for the adjacent D Zone deposit. The total resource estimate for all three deposits and all resource categories combined is 52.4 million tonnes @ 1.2% copper for 608,900 tonnes of contained copper metal (Table 1).
