| ABSTRACT: | AusQuest Limited (ASX: AQD) is pleased to advise that it has received initial results from recently completed wide-spaced (~400m) drilling at the Hamilton Iron-Oxide Copper-Gold (IOCG) Project located ~120km south of the world-class Cannington mine in north-west Queensland, which is owned and operated by its Strategic Alliance Partner South32. Drilling has so far returned anomalous copper results from drill-hole HMDD03, located ~500m from historical drill-hole WD02009, which provided strong indications (potassic alteration) of a nearby IOCG system. While the anomalous copper intersection is relatively narrow (9m @ 0.11% Cu) and occurs immediately below the Cretaceous cover sequence, the associated chemistry of this intersection (strong depletion in manganese, magnesium and zinc) indicates that the copper occurs within an advanced argillic alteration zone similar to those often found associated with IOCG systems. | |
