ABSTRACT:The Kemess Underground (KUG) project is 100% owned by AuRico Metals Inc., with AuRico holding the surface rights to the property through its mineral claims and mining leases. The project is located in a mountainous area of north-central British Columbia, Canada, approximately 250 km north of Smithers and 430 km northwest of Prince George. ES Figure 1 shows the location of the Kemess Underground Project. The property is host to the former Kemess South (KS) Mine, the KUG deposit, and the Kemess East (KE) deposit. The KUG and KE deposits are the subject of this Technical Report update. For the KUG deposit, the previous (2016) Feasibility Study (FS) Technical Report is re-presented here and it remains unchanged in its entirety. However, this Technical Report incorporates a preliminary economic assessment (PEA) level assessment for KE in Section 23 Other Relevant Data. Additionally, the KE resource estimate that the PEA is based on has been updated, and this update has been incorporated throughout the relevant sections. The KE PEA represents a stand-alone scenario which does not factor in or modify in any way the economics of the feasibility stage KUG project. The PEA does, however, assume that the KUG project is advanced ahead of KE, and hence a number of project components, most notably the access corridor connecting KUG to the KS process plant and the water treatment plants associated with KUG, are not duplicated in the capital expenditure (CapEx) for KE.
