ABSTRACT:(PERTH) – AngloGold Ashanti Australia Ltd (AGAA - ASX:AGG) is pleased to announce further significant gold intercepts from the Old Camp Zone at the Butcher Well project in the Laverton region of Western Australia, which it is exploring under a Farm-in Agreement with Saracen Mineral Holdings Ltd (SAR – ASX). The intersections define the Old Camp Zone as a strongly mineralised body below 300 m and open at depth, and suggest an offset mineralised lode open at depth and to the south (Old Camp Zone South). A second phase of drilling was completed at Butcher Well in late 2017, following up significant gold intersections returned from initial drilling beneath and on strike of several open pits (see press release 13th July 2017). A total of 20 DDH and 20 RC holes targeted the recently discovered Old Camp Zone, and the Enigmatic Zone. Drilling at the Old Camp Zone comprised 12 DDH (7,391 m) to further define and extend mineralisation at depth, and 13 RC holes (1,992 m) to test near surface mineralisation. The zone has now been defined below 300 m vertical depth over a strike of 450 m with 50-150 m drill spacing. The mineralised intersections suggest that the Old Camp Zone dips steeply to the west, with intercepts of 29 m @ 12.90 g/t Au from 562 m in BWD052, and 5 m @ 13.00 g/t Au from 561 m in BWD053 considered to be close to true width, as these holes were drilled towards the east. The downplunge continuity of mineralisation is demonstrated by intersections strongly oblique to mineralisation including 49 m @ 5.2 g/t Au from 589 m in BWD031 and 5 m @ 7.2 g/t Au from 601 m in BWD019.
