ABSTRACT:American Pacific Borate and Lithium, (ASX: ABR) (“APBL”, or “the Company) is pleased to announce initial assay results from the recently commenced confirmatory resource drilling program on its 100%-owned Fort Cady Borate and Lithium Project (“the Project’) in Southern California, USA. APBL is advancing the Project rapidly with the view of commencing a Feasibility Study in early 2018. The 6,800m resource drilling program is designed to confirm the historical mineral estimate defined on the project during the early 1980’s (ASX announcement 1st September, 2017). The Company has now completed five drill holes at the project with four drill rigs currently operating. Core samples from three of the drill holes have been submitted for analysis with assay results pending. Brine samples have also been submitted for analysis from the first completed lithium brine drill hole located northeast of the Fort Cady borate-lithium mineralisation. “We are very excited with the initial results of our drilling program. These results confirm what we already knew from the historical drilling – that Fort Cady contains an exceptionally thick sequence of borate mineralisation. We are also highly encouraged by the lithium concentrations in the borate mineralisation. We will now fast-track leaching testwork on drill core samples to determine what quantity of lithium can be extracted along with the boric acid during solution mining. We are confident we have a compelling boric acid development opportunity. Lithium by-products have the potential to enhance the project metrics and take the Project to the next level”.
