| ABSTRACT: | Aeon Metals Ltd (“Aeon” or “the Company”) today provides the assay results for the first hole drilled to the west of the current Resource in the 2018 exploration drilling campaign. The hole, WFPD273, is located 4.6km west of the current Resource. A visual assessment of this first western hole was announced to the market on 24 April noting the hole “successfully intercepted approximately 21m of the mineralised Py3 zone consisting of abundant galena, sphalerite and minor chalcopyrite and material visually interpreted to be cobaltiferous pyrite”. Assays for hole WFPD273 show a wide mineralised intersection of 33m @ 4.05% Pb, 0.96% Zn, 0.06% Co and 43gt Ag including; • 22m @ 5.70% Pb, 1.20% Zn, 0.08% Co and 57gt Ag from 247m. The assay results confirm the excellent stratigraphic continuity along the Fish River Fault (“FRF”) as well as the significant base metals potential of this large system. This high-grade base metal mineralisation is typical of the peripheral leadzinc rich zone seen within the current Resource, and additional western drilling has confirmed this lateral zonation along strike of WFPD273, with the latest completed hole WFPD304 intercepting a zone consisting of approximately 19m of chalcopyrite mineralisation with pyrite and minor galena in a faulted Py3 unit (Figure 3). The broad widths of mineralisation highlight the potential to increase the Resource base for Walford Creek along strike of the current Resource. | |
