| ABSTRACT: | Aeon Metals Ltd (“Aeon” or “the Company”) is pleased to provide the first assay results from its Walford Creek 2018 drilling campaign. Further results will be released over the next 6 months as assay results are received. The ramp up to 3 fully operational rigs at Walford Creek was achieved at the end of April and processing of drill samples started in the new Mount Isa yard shortly thereafter. Today’s drill results are for 2 holes (WFPD272 and WFRC274) which are within the current Resource. Hole WFPD272 was planned and drilled to fill a gap of approximately 120m in the current eastern Marley section of the Resource. The hole successfully hit the Py3 mineralisation where planned with a significant intercept assay of 14m @ 1.33% Cu, 0.19% Co, and 35gt Ag from 186m. Hole WFRC274 was planned and drilled to close the south side of one section in the current Vardy section of the Resource. Once again the hole was successful with a significant assay in the Py3 of 13m @ 1.03% Cu, 0.08% Co, and 30gt Ag from 168m. This hole also includes a shallow supergene blanket in the Py1 of high grade silver of 10m @ 108gt Ag from 17m. In addition, this hole shows the peripheral zinc, lead and strong cobalt mineralisation which typically flanks the high-grade copper in the Py1. The exploration team is confident that systematic drilling utilising 2 of the drill rigs along the 3.6km current Resource strike will lead to an increase in the tonnes and grade of the current Resource. The third rig is continuing to build exploration potential out to the west of the current Resource where there are similarities with mineralisation of the Marley zone. | |
