| ABSTRACT: | Aeon Metals Ltd (“Aeon” or “the Company”) today provides the following assay results update from Walford Creek. Hole WFPD173, which was drilled 2.5km along strike to the West of the current Resource, intersected 17m of high grade lead, zinc and silver in the mineralised Py3 Peripheral Zone. As announced on 17 May 2018, the revised geological model (see Figure 4: Typical Cross Section) suggested re-entering old hole WFRC173 (drilled by Aeon in 2014) so that a diamond drill tail could test for the mineralised Py3 stratigraphy. This was successfully completed and the extended hole intersected the top of the Py3 in the peripheral mineralisation containing strong galena and sphalerite and minor chalcopyrite before being cut off by the Fish River Fault (“FRF”). Following confirmation of the Py3 location and peripheral mineralisation, a new hole, WFPD292, was designed to target and test for the lower Py3 Copper-Cobalt Zone. WFPD292, which was stepped back behind WFPD173, was successfully positioned and intercepted approximately 20m of overprinting chalcopyrite rich mineralisation. WFPD292 results are expected within a week. A similar hole WFPD304 drilled a further 1.2km West hit a similar interval of chalcopyrite rich mineralisation. These intercepts confirm the presence of mineralisation seen within the current resource. The geology of this section 2.5km along strike from the current Resource confirms the world class scale of the Walford Creek mineral system. | |
