| ABSTRACT: | 25 February 2019: Aeon Metals Ltd (ASX:AML) (“Aeon” or “the Company”) today announces upgraded Resource figures for its 100% owned Walford Creek Project in North West Queensland. The significant increases in the M&I tonnages (which are the required basis for Ore Reserve estimates for development and mining) will enable Aeon to complete a feasibility study during 2019 for a project with a mine life of at least 10 to 15 years with the capability for modular expansion, if and when the Mineral Resource base is increased. Independent geological consultant H&S Consultants Pty Ltd (“H&SC”), who provided the previous Mineral Resource estimate in January 2018, incorporated drill results from the 2018 infill drill campaign to complete the upgraded Mineral Resources. Commenting on the updated Resources figures Aeon Metals CEO, Hamish Collins, said, “In 2018 we successfully completed Australia’s largest base metals drill campaign at Walford Creek. We were able to do this on time, on budget but more importantly safely. The extensive drill campaign, which included both exploration and infill drilling, has enabled Aeon to upgrade the Walford Creek Project Resource with a significant increase in JORC confidence level into Measured and Indicated. Importantly, remarkable geological continuity has now been proven over 9.3km of strike with further geological continuity known to continue both west and east of the new Mineral Resources for approximately an additional 20km. Exploration of this area will be the focus of our 2019 drilling effort. The Board is confident to progress project development of what is a world class copper/cobalt project in North West Queensland and one of the most substantial new mining projects in Australia.” | |
