ABSTRACT: | Aeon Metals Ltd (“Aeon” or “the Company”) owner of one of Australia’s biggest undeveloped base metals project in north-west Queensland, the Walford Creek project, announces assay results for its second drill hole (WFDD264) in the final phase of 2017 drilling with another high grade copper-cobalt intersect: The second round of drilling at Walford Creek commenced on 22 September 2017 and with wet weather pending, the drilling program has been successfully completed on budget and the rig is now being demobilised. This drilling program consisted of 9 diamond core holes totalling approximately 2,379 metres. Aeon’s Managing Director, Hamish Collins, said: “Once again, the targeting based on the revised geological model is confirming both the parameters and potential size of the system, and the interpreted ‘High Grade Zones’ of copper-cobalt in the lower PY3. It is now 2 solid assay results from 2 holes with this second hole showing particularly high grade cobalt. We look forward to the results from the other 7 holes over the next 6-7 weeks. We are of the continuing view that this drilling program will lead to a possible material increase in the high grade Vardy Resource, and open up the expansion potential of the Walford Creek strike length.” As with previous holes and consistent with the geological model, further assay results from the second drill hole highlight additional “flanking” zones of zinc mineralisation which were intersected above and below the copper zone, including | |
