| ABSTRACT: | Aeon Metals Ltd (“Aeon” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce the results (Table 1 below) from the first 4 western holes, (WFDD216, 217, 218 and 219) of the program completed in October this year. That program consisted of 8 diamond drill holes for 586 m. All holes have been drilled at 60 degrees towards the north with coring including both PQ and HQ. The remaining results (WFDD220 -223) are expected in the next week. These holes lie within the recently announced Mineral Resource Estimate (reported in accordance with the 2012 JORC Code and Guidelines) at the Vardy Zone, part of the 100% owned Walford Creek Base Metals Project. Significant intercepts from this latest drilling include hole WFDD219 which was drilled closest to the previous holes drilled in May and June on the west side of the previous high grade intercepts. WFDD219 includes broad low grade mineralisation at shallow depths and a higher grade zone of 20m from 31m downhole @ 0.5% Copper and 0.25% Cobalt. Importantly, these 4 holes intercepted the top mineral host horizon at slightly deeper depths than was intersected in the previous high grade shallow holes WFDD200, WFDD203 and WFDD204 (see the Company’s previous announcements in August and September 2016). Although only 10-20m deeper, this may have resulted in less of a supergene effect compared with those holes mentioned above. The four holes whose results are expected later in the week are closest to those up front shallow holes drilled in May and June. | |
