ABSTRACT:AVZ’s Managing Director Mr Nigel Ferguson commented: “Step out drilling at Roche Dure continues to demonstrate strong lithium mineralisation to the NW of Roche Dure close to the ground surface on new section 7700mN. A bulk sample currently being drilled across the orebody in vertical PQ diameter cored holes will be sent to Perth for exhaustive metallurgical tests, including tin and tantalum recoveries. This bulk sampling programme commenced in mid-October and is expected to be completed in midNovember with the samples being sent to Nagrom in Perth as soon as practicable, thereafter. Lithium, tin and tantalum recoveries and other tests required for process plant design studies will be carried out on this bulk sample as well as the possible production of batches of concentrate for potential offtake partners. Apart from deeply weathered hole MO18DD060 in the SW, the assays from the remaining 6 drill holes again show excellent lithium mineralisation. We are very happy that the scale of the Roche Dure mineralisation continues to grow and we look forward to releasing an updated Mineral Resource Estimate for Manono before the end of the year.” AVZ Minerals Limited (ASX: AVZ) “AVZ” or “the Company” is pleased to report it has received further high-grade results from its Mineral Resource drilling at the Manono Lithium Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It has received results from a further seven diamond drill holes, none of which were included in the Maiden JORC Mineral Resource estimate reported in early August 2018. Drilling progress The grades of some of the pegmatite intervals in the new infill holes (Figure 1) show some areas of deeper weathering to the SW but with corresponding apparent elevated tin and tantalum grades with a maximum value of 30,508ppm Sn recorded in hole MO18DD057 at the footwall contact. To the NW however there is fresh, strongly mineralised lithium rich pegmatite close to the surface on section 7700mN although the orebody seems to be steepening and thinning to approximately 200 metres thick* towards the NW end of Roche Dure. Again, there appears to be no zonation in the pegmatite intersected by these seven new holes. Figures 2 to 4 show these intervals schematically. AVZ’s main step out drilling programme is expected to be completed late in November, with an update to the Mineral Resource Estimate for Manono due before the end of the year. There will be some later drilling to firm up geological interpretations as well as flatter holes under the flooded pit to increase levels of confidence in the resource beneath the flooded pit-floor but these are not expected to increase the tonnages significantly.
