Mozambique
During 2012 RSC conducted a greenfields rare earths exploration program in Malilongue, Mozambique. Hosted by local company Anova Metals Ltd, RSC generated a comprehensive data set for the field area, revealing additional prospectively for various non-rare earth metals including lithium, tantalum and tin. While assay grades ultimately proved the project to be economically unviable in the short term, RSC's exploration services contributed greatly to the geological understanding of the local area and added to the growing knowledge of granite- and pegmatite-hosted rare metal deposits from around the world.
Project geologist Matthew Wood and consulting geologist Rene Sterk enjoyed the challenges, the beautiful scenery and the great geology of the area. We hope to return soon!
